Compare Florida’s Fantasy 5 odds to the millions to 1 odds of a 6-number lotto drawing or a 4 1 number mega-money drawing. Top Fantasy 5 prize winners over the past 5-years have won as much as $350,000 in a single drawing and, on those days when there were no top prize winners, players who matched 4 of 5 winning numbers have won as much as $1,150 in a single drawing. Players who match 3 of 5 winning numbers typically win $10, and those players that match 2 of 5 winning numbers win a free Fantasy 5 ticket for the next drawing.

Lottery games such as Florida's Fantasy 5 are based on a random selection of numbers. It is impossible for any person or any computer software to predict which numbers will be drawn in the next drawing. It is for this simple fact alone that you shouldn’t waste your money on lottery software, lottery wheels or other lottery strategies like those promoted all over the internet. Most self-described lottery "experts" selling such lottery products all advise against playing lottery terminal generated "quick picks". Fact of the matter is that of all the Fantasy 5 jackpot tickets over the past 5 years (3,989 jackpot tickets), almost 50% were "quick picks" (1,971 "quick-pick" jackpot tickets)

The best ways to improve your chances of winning 3, 4 and 5 number Fantasy 5 cash prizes are to identify, select and play those number combinations that have historically been drawn more frequently over a long period of time than those number combinations that have rarely been drawn over the same period of time. In other words, play the proven percentages.

A great resource that identifies the 2, 3, 4 and 5 number winning number combinations of 1,825 Florida Fantasy 5 drawings from July 16, 2001 (the start date of the 5/36 Matrix Fantasy 5 game) through July 15, 2006 is the “Florida Fantasy 5 lottery Facts Report”. The "Report" was published by BESTRACS Consulting, LLC, a firm that has compiled all the Florida Fantasy 5 winning number combinations for the past 5-years. The “Report” includes easy to read tables that accurately depict the number of times each of the 36 numbers was drawn over the 5-year period; the number of times each of the 36 numbers was drawn in each of the 5 positions of the winning number combinations (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th position); the number of times each possible 2-number combination (each possible pair) was drawn; all the 3-number combinations that "hit" 7 or more times over the 5-year period; all the 4-number combinations that “hit” 3 or more times over the 5-year period; high/low and odd/even winning number combination ratios; other winning number combination percentages and more.

The "Report" does not definitively tell which numbers or number combinations to play nor does it suggest any definitive lottery playing strategy or the amount of money to play - it just represents the actual trends of the winning number combinations and number patterns over the 5-year period and calculations derived there from.

The "Report" also includes the winning number combinations from July 16, 2006 through the end of most current previous week as of the date the “Report” is ordered.

The following are some of the playing Tips that are easily derived from the “Florida Fantasy 5 lottery Facts Report”:

Claim Unclaimed Lottery Before its too late

Unclaimed lottery wins have become a large source of unclaimed money sitting with the state treasuries. It is unbelievable that lottery winnings and jackpots can go unclaimed, but the fact is, every year dozens of hefty jackpots are left unclaimed. Unclaimed lottery winnings have been on the rise and in most of these cases, the efforts to locate the rightful owners of these lotteries have gone in vain.

Most of the states have enacted very practical and lenient laws regarding the claim of lottery winnings. A claim period of 1 year is demarcated for the unclaimed lottery process in states like Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Some other states have a validity time frame of three to six months. According to a USA Today survey, almost half a billion dollars of unclaimed lottery money was reported last year. Minnesota reported the expiration of a $1. 5 million lottery ticket in January, while Oregon reported the expiration of $7. 5 million lottery winning in June. Florida has announced that a $3 million worth lottery ticket is going to expire on Christmas Eve.

A few states have reported the actual volume of unclaimed lottery money:

• In 2005 Illinois reported $14 million of unclaimed lottery winnings

• In the same year, Indiana reported more than $5 million of unclaimed lottery tickets

• The state of Massachusetts reported $4. 6 million of unclaimed lottery money a few years earlier.

• Connecticut has not had a winning ticket expire without a winner for nearly a decade. But in certain circles, any unclaimed prize is referred to as the Clarence Jackson Jr. jackpot. Mr. Jackson, three days late in turning in the winning $5. 8 million ticket in 1996, never got a penny. Of the 1, 100 jackpots Connecticut has doled out since the lottery began here in 1972, 11 have gone unclaimed. Between 2008 and 2009, Georgia reported almost $45 millions of unclaimed lottery money.

Many dailies and editors of major newspapers have debated the laws and norms for claiming the unclaimed lottery winnings, and have stressed on the fact that it should be more expansive and flexible and should be pro-lottery-players. Dawn Nettles, editor of The lotto Report, a newsletter that covers lotteries, blames lottery practices for many of the unclaimed prizes. "It's so frustrating that I can hardly talk about it, " she says. Computer scanning errors cost lottery players prizes, she says. A very glaring case of computer enabled lottery check was detected in Ohio in 2006. The computer failed to validate a $267 million winning ticket.

Toledo tax attorney, Mark Mockensturm, who represented the winner, confirms the story. "The computer system at the lottery office in Cleveland didn't read the encoded ink, " he says. The ticket was validated in other ways. "The size of the jackpot caused a hiccup in the computer program, " Ohio lottery spokeswoman Marie Kilbane says. The software was fixed, and the ticket was paid. "All's well, " she says.

Readily available for the public, and being one of the most popular pastimes of the American people, Lotteries or lottos are many times governed by rules which are not known to the common man. It is highly recommended that the lottery players understand the rules and the finer print, so that they don’t lose the opportunity of a life time.

Unclaimed lottery search has seen a spike in recent times and this point to the fact a greater number of lottery players are in possession of tickets which have gone unclaimed. So , if you are regular lottery player, it is advisable to know the rules of lottery so that you don’t have to waste valuable time later on in locating the unclaimed lottery money.

Why Lotto Wheeling Works

You may occassionally come across websites or individuals who claim that lottery 'wheeling' doesn't work (wheeling is multiple entries using combinations of a set of numbers). The usual justification for this is that they say you are entering the same number multiple times in order to create your wheel, and thus spending money needlessly. They are correct in one sense - after all, you could cover all the 49 numbers in the UK national lottery (the 'lotto') in only 9 tickets (6 different numbers per ticket). On the other hand, any wheel must 'combine' the numbers you want in order to create possible wins on any one ticket, so , for example , you might cover only 10 or 12 numbers with the same number of tickets in order to create a guaranteed '3' win.
But... and it's a big but , in the first situation, you have only 9 chances to win the jackpot (i. e. 6 from 6 correct) and only a slim chance of any other prize too. A '3' win, for example , the lowest win possible in the UK lotto is actually quite remote, clocking in at about 55 to 1 against. In other words, if you enter your 9 tickets every week, you might expect 3 numbers once every 5 weeks or so - hardly a great return on your $50 investment!
And this is why wheels are so good - they allow you to cover large 'ranges' of numbers without buying all the tickets you would normally need to get the same sort of cover. The older less popular wheel would usually require you to buy a lot of tickets, but would guaranteee a certain outcome if you managed to 'catch' a certain number of draws in your picks. Good modern wheels provide you with 'statistical guarantees' - e. g. a certain wheel might require you to buy 10 tickets to cover 15 picks, with the promise that if all 6 numbers drawn are within your 15 picks, there is a 45% chance of getting 4 of them in one line, and an 80% chance of getting 3 balls in one line. Obviously, this is far more economical than buying enough tickets the 'hard way' to cover 15 numbers completely. What would you prefer for a prize of only $90 or $100 - an 80% chance of a win at a cost of $10 or a 100% chance of the same win at a cost of $1, 000? Bit of a no-brainer really, isn't it? Remember that the sites or people who decry wheeling lotto systems usually are trying to sell you their own 'magic' lotto 'secrets' - perhaps using 'lucky irish clover' or 'the power of clairvoyance'. If their systems were any good, why don't they just keep very quiet and win the lotto themselves, week after week?
If you want to play around with wheels for free, lotto.com" target=new>Winthatlotto. com
has a number of free online wheeling systems that allow you to cover up to 20 numbers using only 10 tickets, with guarantees that will payout up to 4 ball wins. And the odds of a 4 ball win using normal techniques are over 1, 031 to 1 against! As you can see, a good modern lotto wheeling system will allow you to 'stay in the game' by catching regular small wins that help to offset or even cover completely your costs. And if it doesn't cost anything, why not play?! Picking at random brings you no guarantee above and beyond the certainty that the lottery executives salaries will get paid!
